Jim Elliott

Chief Executive Officer

Jim Elliott serves as Chief Executive Officer of St. Louis-based Spartech, an engineered materials solutions company. Spartech is dedicated to developing results that are sustainable, diverse, reliable and bring innovation to real-world applications.

Elliott joined the Spartech team in 2023 with more than 20 years of experience in chemical and specialty materials businesses. He started his career in application development, tech service, and R&D for the paper and packaging coatings business at Michelman, Inc. Elliott then spent nearly 15 years in global strategic marketing and commercial roles, including time at Dow Corning and Dow Chemical. While at Dow, he oversaw the marketing and commercial strategy for a diverse $850M business selling products into household and laundry care, food and beverage, and a range of industrial markets. In these roles, Elliott was responsible for building strategic plans and expanding the opportunity pipelines to drive year-over-year growth.

More recently, Elliott was the VP/General Manager of the Performance Materials business at Vertellus. At Vertellus, he transformed a $40M anhydrides business into a $400M global specialty materials business by driving sales growth, upgrading plant operations, and making strategic acquisitions.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University.
