Calendering
A calender is a series of hard pressure rollers used to apply coatings, or to finish, smooth, or form a sheet of plastics or plastic films. Calender rolls can be heated or cooled as needed, can be used for polishing, or making uniform, coatings applied to substrates. Typical processing includes polymers such as vinyl and ABS polymer sheets, and to a lesser extent HDPE, polypropylene, and polystyrene.
