Polymer Cast Acrylic
Polymer Cast Acrylic
What It Is & Characteristics
The technical term for the chemical composition of Cast Acrylic is PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate).
The term “Cast Acrylic” describes the process in which liquid PMMA is poured into molds and cured, resulting in a highly transparent and uniform material. Cast Acrylic has a unique combination of properties. It offers good rigidity and tensile strength, significantly higher impact resistance than glass, and exceptional resistance to weather, UV radiation, and a wide range of chemicals and solvents. Prolonged exposure to harsh sunlight may cause slight yellowing, while exposure to harsh chemicals may cause crazing or damage.
Typical Uses
Cast Acrylic’s transparency and ability to withstand substantial amounts of force without shattering make it an ideal choice for applications that prioritize safety, such as bullet-proof windows and displays. Additionally, Cast Acrylic’s range of resistant properties and strength allows for its use in structural applications involving moderate loads and signage.
Sustainability. The Key To Future Value.
We have placed sustainability, environment, social and governance (ESG) issues at the very center of our focus. Not simply to comply with regulations and standards, but to drive true change that transforms tomorrow. This, we believe, is how real value is created.
