Polymer Cellulose Acetate
Polymer Cellulose Acetate
What It Is & Characteristics
Durable plastic with clarity and easy molding and extrusion properties; produced from trees.
The foundation of Cellulose Acetate is cellulose, an abundant renewable, natural resource. Typically, Cellulose Acetate has a bio-content of over 50%. Cellulose Acetate has been around since the 1860’s and is considered to be biodegradable. It has excellent clarity with little to no odor and excellent chemical resistance.
Typical Uses
Cellulose Acetate is used for anti-fog goggles, safety shields (especially where chemical resistance is valued) and playing cards. We believe that Spartech is the only Cellulose Acetate sheet producer in North America.
Sustainability. The Key To Future Value.
We have placed sustainability, environment, social and governance (ESG) issues at the very center of our focus. Not simply to comply with regulations and standards, but to drive true change that transforms tomorrow. This, we believe, is how real value is created.
