Transparent and highly impact resistant thermoplastic.

Polycarbonate is a commonly used amorphous polymer with excellent engineering properties including high impact strength, low moisture absorption, good dimensional stability and excellent light transmittance. In its natural form without any color additives, PC is transparent like glass.

Typical Uses

Due to PC's high impact resistance and excellent light transmittance, it is commonly used for eyeglass lenses and for other protective see-through products, medical devices, vehicle components, exterior lighting fixtures, and is always a consideration for most other exterior transparent needs. Combining the heat resistance and its other properties, the use of PC is typically in more demanding situations where the product needs to be able to stand up to use.
